Description

Exhaust gas emissions from ships are subject to international, national and local regulations. MARPOL Annex VI, defined by International Maritime Organization (IMO), limits the main air pollutants contained in ships exhaust gas, including Sulphur oxides (SOx) and nitrous oxides (NOx), and prohibits deliberate emissions of ozone depleting substances (ODS). MARPOL Annex VI also regulates shipboard incineration and the emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) from tankers.

The system proposed by APT is compliant with the limits set by the rule above and is designed to continuously monitor and report traces of SO2, CO2 and, with an optional module, even CO/NOx/CH4 and Oxygen can be monitored.

It can monitor up to 4 exhaust funnels simultaneously.

A heated sample probe is inserted into the funnel and connected, through a heated sample line, to a sampling system that completely dries the gas.
Then, the treated sample is sent to a cabinet which contains all the analyzers for the required measurements. The analysis cabinet is also equipped with a data acquisition system that can store and send all the measured values to the ship management system.

The system can be also customized to individual requirements, covering all types of exhaust cleaning systems and all ship fuels.
